What path led you into the spa industry?
Passion. I was a biochemist and product formulator for Fortune 50 companies in Europe and the U.S. Starting Skinprint and working with talented spa professionals has become my passion.
What is your personal recipe for success in the spa business?
Collaboration and creativity. I work with hundreds of spa professionals worldwide in clinical settings. Many times, the most successful products and techniques come as a result of the direct work done alongside creative estheticians and physicians. There is no substitute for a multidisciplinary effort.
What makes your company shine?
Knowledge and exclusivity. Having a team that understands skin anatomy, physiology, and how to apply it to the art and science of cosmeceutical formulation is powerful. Then, making Skinprint an exclusive brand by controlling how and to whom we sell our product is very unique.
What is the most rewarding part of working in the industry?
Professional interaction. My staff and I learn new techniques, ideas about new products, and ways to improve the general industry every day. This is a dynamic and exciting business in which to be able to participate.
What advice do you have for someone breaking into the spa business today?
Know your craft. Constantly improve your education, seek high-quality mentors, interact with your peers often about your craft, and don’t lose your passion.
